Celebrating Indigenous Artists

Every year, NAIDOC Week celebrates Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture, history, and achievements. This year's theme 'For Our Elders' honours the invaluable role of Indigenous Elders in our communities. Their wisdom influences various aspects of society, including culture, land and sea management, education, health, governance, and the arts. During NAIDOC Week, Tigmi showcases the exceptional artworks of two talented Indigenous artists, Rita Watson and Terry Ward. Both artists are celebrated members of Ninuku Arts, an art centre in South Australia's far northwest region. Their limited series of 4 artworks beautifully blend contemporary elements with traditional symbolism, offering captivating explorations of Indigenous lineage.
