Drinks and Inks - NAIDOC Week Traditional Indigenous Art Class
NAIDOC Week Traditional Indigenous Art Class
In the spirit of NAIDOC week, we will be having an Indigenous art class at the gallery based around this year's NAIDOC theme: Heal Country. This is a very special event that will be hosted by the amazing Jade from Wandyu Art, who will be teaching us all how to create a traditional Indigenous art piece.
How does the class work:
This art class is a great chance to spend a Saturday afternoon socialising, making some cool stuff and drinking some wine. It is also a great way to acknowledge the true ancestors of the land and celebrate their culture.
Bring yourself, BYO booze, and come and enjoy a chilled-out afternoon of creativity.
All materials will be provided and the class will be hosted to guide you in how to create it, you don't need any previous experience or knowledge - just a willingness to learn!
Getting here:
SenOpsis is located at 3/810 Hunter St Newcastle West, on the corner of Florence St. We are the first block after the Newcastle Interchange on Hunter St, and there's a bus stop directly out the front of the gallery so it's super easy to public transport it in. If you're driving in there is free on-street parking after 12pm on Saturdays on Hunter St and on the surrounding blocks, but if you prefer a parking station there is one behind the old Spotlight building that is $8 for the whole day, and there is one at the Newcastle Interchange (entrance from Maitland Rd) that has $5 all-day parking on weekends.
We cannot wait to see you there!
