Free Badge Making in The Rocks

Celebrate NAIDOC Week 2024 with a free family activity at The Rocks Discovery Museum.
This school holiday season, join The Rocks Discovery Museum for a fun-filled afternoon of badge making while discovering the rich local history of The Rocks and celebrating NAIDOC Week 2024.

The "crafternoon" activity is a great way to engage children in learning about the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and the importance of NAIDOC Week.

Participants will have the opportunity to make their very own Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander badges.

The program aims to educate children about the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander flags, their meanings, and the significance of NAIDOC Week in Australian First Nations history and heritage. The Rocks Discovery Museum experienced and knowledgeable educators will guide children through the process of making their badges and share fascinating insights about the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures. By participating in our program, children will develop an understanding and appreciation for the rich cultural heritage of Australia's First Nations people.

Welcome to NAIDOC.

We acknowledge all First Peoples of the beautiful lands on which we live and celebrate their enduring knowledge and connections to Country. We honour the wisdom of and pay respect to Elders past and present.
