Goologoolup NAIDOC Screenings
5, 7, 9 & 10 July at 12:30pm The Goologoolup NAIDOC Screenings is a program of films and a series of digital exhibitions showcasing Indigenous talent and storytelling. In each episode the Bush Mechanics who come from the remote Warlpiri community of Yuendemu are presented with a new set of challenges. As they travel through the desert in their clapped-out vehicles, they solve multiple car problems with wacky and inventive bush repair techniques. On Saturday, 10 July, there is a special double bill featuring the documentary opener Jupurrurla – Man of Media, which follows the story of the director and producer of Bush Mechanics Warlpiri Elder and Lawman, Francis Jupurrurla Kelly – a pioneer of Indigenous filmmaking in central Australia.
