Mindwest NAIDOC Event 2024

The Midwest NAIDOC event stands as the premier regional gathering uniting neighboring Shires in the Midwest. Under this year's theme 'Keep the Fire Burning Blak, Loud & Proud', it fosters arts-based activities, cultural activities, bush tucker and other community cooking activities, sporting activities, youth activities, elder's activities and promotion of reconciliation. Orchestrated by the Shire of Morawa in collaboration with esteemed partners including Traditional Owners, Midwest Education & Economic Development Aboriginal Corporation (MEEDAC), WA Police, the Community Resource Centre, Desert blue connect and local community entities, the event embodies unity and cultural richness. With last year's attendance exceeding 450 individuals, this year anticipates surpassing 500, underscoring its significance in fostering community cohesion and celebrating Indigenous heritage.

Welcome to NAIDOC.

We acknowledge all First Peoples of the beautiful lands on which we live and celebrate their enduring knowledge and connections to Country. We honour the wisdom of and pay respect to Elders past and present.
